Give or take Covid, Tony Eaude has organised a game of hockey every August Bank Holiday Monday with former members of Amersham Hockey Club and current ‘bastions’ of the club since 2003 to mark his 50th birthday. With the always keenly contested hockey game finished, the players mingle for many hours after with spectators (generally also former friends and players) to discuss the finer points of the game and which body parts have been replaced since they last met up.
The 2021 gathering was particularly good as Covid lockdown had cancelled the previous years gathering and the guest list was honoured to have the presence of Alan Crossman again, the longest ever serving member of the club (via Amersham).

After Alan had graced the pitch for 10 minutes, a longer debate in the bar ensued afterwards about longest serving players with a rough guestimate of the current longest serving male players (give or take University and other various leaves of absence)
