I hope you have all had an enjoyable summer – either home or away – few updates from me as the new season fast approaches.
ACHC has been accredited by England Hockey as a Talent Centre!
This is great news – a recognition of how the club is run, the quality of our coaching and, in particular, of how well we look after and develop our juniors. Huge thanks to Emily Sharps, Jacko, and Lou Hagan for all that they have done to help us to get here. Just too late for the most recent EH comms on this, but hopefully we will feature in their next one!
Give goalkeeping a go!
We have some great goalies but are always looking for more. If you want to have a go, just ask your coach. We have a new partnership with 101GK this year who will be doing goalie-specific coaching for us following John Spicer’s relocation to France.
Volunteers wanted
We’re always looking for more help. If you can help out around the clubhouse please let Miranda Sharp know, and if you can help out with the admin for the junior teams (parents would be great for this!) then please contact Lou Hagan.
Sponsorship
Emma Rynn has kindly volunteered to lead efforts to raise more money for the club from sponsors now that our arrangement with Methods has reached its end. Emma has fantastic experience in this field and would love a volunteer to research sponsorship options and potential sponsors. This would really suit a student thinking about going into marketing – a great opportunity to learn from someone in the business and would not be too time-consuming.
Emma has already pulled together a document outlining the opportunities for potential sponsors which can be found here.

Code of conduct
As we start getting into more and more matches, a timely reminder that we all have to abide by the EH Code of Conduct which you signed up to when first registering on Teamo – Respect_-_Players.pdf (achc.org.uk)
Our reputation as a club hinges on how we treat other players (in our own teams and the opposition), being respectful to umpires, and being mindful of the safety of everyone. Please don’t lose sight of this – it applies to all of us, whether playing or watching!
